CarMD handheld reader will not connect Check the app screen, make sure the connected icon is green If the handheld icon is not green, go to settings, bluetooth, re-pair CarMD handheld device
Check to see Bluetooth is on Go to settings, ensure Bluetooth is turned on
Check for nearby Bluetooth devices Some devices interfere with communication with tablet. Turn off nearby Bluetooth devices and try again
Check the iPad power level If the iPad is Low Power” mode, go to Settings -> Battery and disable Low Power mode. Charge iPad after completing customer’s report
Check to see if they are batteries in the CarMD handheld If batteries are present, remove.
CarMD App stalls when trying to create a new report You have no network connectivity Check cellular/network connectivity and try again
There is an issue with CarMD servers Wait a moment and try again
CarMD device is not connected to tablet Go to settings, ensure Bluetooth is turned on
Go to settings, Bluetooth, look for “CarMD” and pair to tablet
Some devices interfere with communication with tablet. Turn off nearby Bluetooth devices and try again
Tablet does not scan VIN barcode VIN may be illegible Camera may not be able to scan in low light. Move vehicle to a place with more light
Press “VIN not scanning?” and manually enter the VIN
